// The Gap We Close

A workforce shortage measured in the millions.

The defense technology sector cannot hire fast enough. Credentialed, work-ready talent is the bottleneck, and it is a national problem, not a local one. Every intern placed is one position closed against a gap this large.

514K
Open cybersecurity roles across the United States, the largest tech-sector talent gap in the country.
4.8M
Unfilled cybersecurity positions worldwide, a gap that grew 19% in a single year.
$103K
Median U.S. cybersecurity salary, among the highest entry points in the technology workforce.
// What The Model Produces

Every cohort generates three durable outcomes.

The Defense Interns model is designed so that each cycle leaves behind something measurable, for the intern, the employer, and the wider workforce.

Credentialed talent

Interns leave with industry certifications aligned to the DoD 8570/8140 framework, the credentials defense contractors are required to staff against on federal contracts.

Employer capacity

Host employers receive genuine, supervised technical support on live projects, while building a low-risk hiring pipeline of talent they have already worked alongside.

Retained workforce

Graduates are placed and tracked, keeping skilled technical workers employed in the defense sector rather than lost to other industries or other regions.

// Alumni

Everyone who has come through.

Every intern the program has placed, by the year they came through it. The numbers above are these people.
